Score a Slice

In 2012, Pizza Pizza partnered with the Toronto Raptors to create the “Score a Slice” (SAS) campaign: an initiative that aimed to reward die-hard fans with free pizza whenever the Raptors scored 100 points. Over the years the activation has evolved, transitioning to a digital model that rewarded Toronto Raptors app users province-wide and shifting from a free slice to a BOGO deal. Through the initiative, Raptors fans looked forward to each game and eagerly waited for their chance to “Score a Slice”!
THE PROBLEM
The old SAS model struggled to accurately measure success of the campaign due to the inefficient tracking of physical ticket stubs.
THE ASK
Revamp the original campaign to reduce costs, drive to retail, and improve reach to fandom all over Ontario.
CREATIVE INSIGHT
Raptors fans feel the intense pressure of the game alongside the players, but often lack a tangible way to share in the victory.
THE IDEA
Leveraging the Toronto Raptors team App, “Score a Slice” became digital, replacing physical ticket stubs with scannable digital coupons resulting in greater efficiency and inclusivity. The campaign also transitioned from a free slice to a BOGO offer.
